About Andrew

I'm Andrew. I've been doing this for about 7 years, and I've lived in Kansas City my whole life.

I got into this because I got a dog I wasn't necessarily ready for. The same frustrations people deal with every day were happening to me: pulling on the leash, not listening, normal puppy behavior.

I just started throwing my dog's ball for her, and that little game of toss really started to build my relationship with her. She was a German Shepherd who could kind of guess what I wanted, and I started rewarding her for doing it. Looking back, I didn't know what I was doing. I didn't understand how I was shaping behaviors.

I've had a lot more practice since. I've worked with thousands of dogs and thousands of owners, pretty much every breed: aggressive dogs, excited dogs, scared dogs. I've had hundreds of them live in my house.

What makes me different? The internet has all the right answers. That's where I learned basically everything, watching other people. But I've handled that many dogs myself. I've had to take risks, try and fail, make mistakes and get back up. I've had huge successes and figured out new strategies, I've felt like I can't do this anymore, and everywhere in between.
